Sep. 30th, 2019 04:39 pmToday I reached the Arrow episode with Adrian Paul
and had a whole woah moment realising how long it has been since I kept up with what he was doing
time keeps happening.
I am liking the new more law adjacent direction Ollie is taking but cant quite get over the breathtaking hypocrisy of having such a personal revelation and the immediately being like that at everyone who is still doing what he was doing a handful of episodes ago. oh no they are breaking the law... says Oliver Queen??? I mean like yaay but bzuh, you know?
and then when its his wife he's a okay with murder, will back her if she chooses that, doesnt try and talk her out of it... soooo, still working on the whole principled moral stand concept.
I also find I am not enthused about moments we watch people decide not to kill people. like wow, minimum standards achieved. much hero. bery cool.
On the one hand, my standards have moved on from what I used to believe. On the other, the heroes I grew up with very clearly drew the line at No Killing. (Hawkeye is aware of the whole maiming problem and fine with that, but No Killing). But tv and movie heroes lately do not have that line, so you're more often left to wonder why they're walking free and what the villains did that was actually so bad compared to these guys. Don't like it.
Do like newly deputised Ollie.
... therefore don't like where the flashforwards are suggesting that is going...
