Nov. 25th, 2019 06:56 pmI am a bit bored today.
Two weeks in a row now I ordered a thing from sainsburys and it did not arrive.
I read so much Pathfinder book rules stuff I decided to relisten to the audios. They're better than I appreciated first time around. The characters have interesting psychological reactions to encounters with magic and evil gods. One goes all in on studying the arcane, another refuses even healing because magic really sucked last time. But the one with least character is also the only woman on the team, which is not awesome.
I want to play Pathfinder, but I suspect I mostly mean I want to write a story and be boss of all the parts. I mean it has been a very long time since I did cooperative storytelling and it would not go like it does in my head.
But the Pathfinder world has all kinds of adventures and it looks like great fun.
There's no one character class that does exactly what I want though.
I like GURPS in theory because I can just choose all the parts and pieces.
Pathfinder approach to things like weapons familiarity seems so weird in comparison. I mean weapons are wide ! type skills and everyone has them, but the spells are at least as particular as GURPS.
I keep wanting more spells though. I will happily do all fights with a stick or assortment of sticks, maybe a whip or a scarf, but I want alllll the shiny magic powers for me.
... some of them I want for magic backup singers and dancing lights backup dancers, but, power!
I should try to actually play. New plan. Find group, play game.
... aaaaany year now...
