beccaelizabethI am trying to find some Supernatural fic, just to see if it's interesting, after all the... everything on tumblr.
... I have filtered out all the ways of saying Alternate Universe I can think of, and there are still more ways of being an alternate universe. Cop!Castiel or Professor!Castiel is a useful tag, but for filtering purposes, AU in any of its forms is More Useful. As would be putting it in the tags if they are, say, novelist and mechanic, or professor and... anything. I have filtered out high school au and college au and eventually given up and said no to alternate universe even though canon divergence would be within parameters for what I look for. But I am still scrolling down pages and it. is. all. AU.
... did anyone in that fandom write actually in canon?
... are they okay?
... I mean I've seen fandoms dissolve in a burst of Fixit, but...

*filters again*
... okay, now there's like 40 fics left of over 40K words
... and I think they're all AU.
... so that filter set was Nope.
*sigh*
So. Possibly I will not be trying Supernatural fic.
Also even reading the tags suggest the Lore gets too deep to try at random like that.
