beccaelizabethI was writing a fight scene, and it ends with the ranger saying something badass cause they won, so right now I wrote "Rangers lead the way"
and bounced myself right out of the story
because (a) I did not know I knew that. where did I read that? why id my brain spitting out American? movies?
and (b) they are on another planet, and not that kind of ranger, so while they do, in practical terms, lead the way, except when they're at the back shooting stuff, they do not, actually, round off a fight by saying that.
so now I'm on the internet instead of making words happen.
ah well, I'll get it back in a minute.
Also today I figured out the badass cool bit of a whole other fight, but, unfortunately, that is Several scenes away, and I keep figuring out who these people are as I go along, so if I skip forwards they could be someone else entirely by the time I write up to it.
It's still going to be cool though.
