how do tags work actually

Is it possible to go back further than skip=500 on a dreamwidth tag?
I tried to go back to the start of my doctor who tag, but it doesn't get to the first episode.
Is that usual?

Yeah, it's a limit on retrieval, same as you can't go back more than something like 400 posts, or at least I think that is the way it was explained to me.

I guess tagging is still useful when looked at through other views

... or I could make it into two tags, like one for classic who...
