Walking sticks, with or without dragons
Jan. 21st, 2023 07:31 pmToday I've been distracted looking for a dragon walking stick
because I started with LARP wizard staffs and found a Cold Steel Lucky Dragon stick but it is for a taller person so I went looking.
and mostly what I suspect I have found
is crappy 3d printing being listed as Victorian Antiques, amongst other labels.
It's the way it's the exact same shape in different colors and finishes
and yet doesn't really fit on the assorted stick sizes.
I would not want to trust my weight to it for a moment, and not just because my weight is significant.
There are some things I feel shouldnt be sold.
Actual walking sticks from mobility type shops can happen in assorted serviceable shapes and sizes, and a variety of colors and patterns, but you'd have to stick your own dragon on it.
Or, there's some really excellent art carving listed on etsy in Ukraine.
Don't know why so many, but they were good stuff.
The cats and ravens and foxes were better shapes than the dragons for actually holding though, because dragons keep having backwards pointing horns, and if your hand slips you'd impale yourself on your own stick, which I feel is counter to the fundamental purpose of walking sticks.
Some of the foxes were so good though I didn't want to lean on them. Wouldn't want to squish the fox.
A medium quality fox conveys the fox while still being stick like enough it wouldn't make me feel guilty.
Do I need to buy a stick? Nope. Probably not.
But I have saved many pictures to my computer, should it ever come up.
... if I had a brain that steered I'd have a very different life by now...
