World Saved
Jun. 28th, 2023 06:08 amThe world of Golarion, on Story mode, but
I won at Wrath of the Righteous, and I liked the ending I got very well,
even though technically the Commander died.
I just spent the back half of the game annoyed that the solution presented was to just go kill someone. We're here to push mythic evil out of the world, to draw a clear line between us and the Abyss, to make a better place. Sacrificing someone, even the one who made the problem in the first place, just isn't the right call for a Good world.
So I jumped in instead.
Which the game not only allowed, it had mythic specific options for.
So I am very happy with the outcome.
Also the Commander got to be a guiding star, Desna having raised Carae to the heavens, which is a pretty good outcome for a mythic hero.
Sad for the one I was romancing, but, a correct play for Azata, dedicated to Good and Freedom, and in keeping with the theme of redemption.
So I like the ending very well.
Of course, I am probably going to go straight back to the start and try a different Myth and make different choices and do it again.
... if I attempt Normal difficulty I am not going to win it though.
... Story again seems like not progress. Maybe Story but with the difficulties turned up a notch? Shall see.
I had heard the game was buggy and with Kingmaker as a comparator I thought it would be horribly crashy again, but, good news, it worked fairly well. In the Gray Garrison I sometimes had to Save it to get control of my characters back, and the merchant screens often made the controls go upside down and backwards, which is weird and unhelpful. I had to restart the game once I think? Maybe? Also I think there was a bug report screen once and I dont know why, I was pressing buttons and it went away again, but there's an associated save on the Load Game screen. Aside from that though, it did seem to play correctly, and I completed it.
Kingmaker was such an epic mess that anything short of major crashes doesnt seem like a problem.
I wouldnt notice anything subtle like incorrect modifiers.
But the game was playable.
I won and it was fun and the story was very satisfying.
