Yesterday some books I ordered arrived :-D
I had ordered five because there's a money off from that shop if you do that
but now I'm just
jumping from book to book
wanting to read all of them first.

It's actually a bunch of DnD stuff, because I have a ton of Pathfinder but not a ton of people locally who play Pathfinder, so I'm going to see what 5e is doing. Not really keen on that, so I keep bouncing to the next thing.

I got the shiny shiny cards Deck of Many Things, which turned out to come with a spare, better, Deck of Many things where all the cards are the same height and can be stacked together in a basically flat way. For the price I kind of thought that was a given but apparently they had a big oops. So. I now have enough cards to stack the Deck without it being obvious how, if and only if it's with ones that happen to be the same length etc. I don't know how I'll feel about the other cards but they are also very shiny so shall see.
Some websites are selling it for Very more than I paid for it. I thunk the variables like dollars to GBP and import costs arent doing anyone any favors.

I also got Strixhaven, a magical university supplement that goes with Magic cards somehow, I dont know. It's the one I have read the most of so far and I like it pretty well. University where they both study magic and use magic to study, so you can be in the history or art department rather than ie necromancy only. What magic is for rather than just magic. And it's based around paired opposites like order and chaos, where you study both together and have academic advisors giving you opposite advice, so it's got lots of dynamic possibility built in. And also there's a big adventure meant to take you through from first year to graduation. Nifty.

Also I got another Pathfinder module but given the offer it was nearly free so might as well.

... rpg books are not a cheap hobby. oh well...

I keep looking at the arts and thinking that's not what that magic item looks like etc. Different arts not my fav. But also, if the Handy Haversack equivalent says it has two side pockets and a main section, the art is fail if it has only one front pocket. That's not met minimum requirements.

And magic swords are grand, you can make them many sorts of varied, but since a human is presumed to be able to grip the things you do actually have some constraints in the matter of hilts, so it's not helpful to put gems all over the grip bit, let alone make it very shapes.

I dont know though, my oreference in magic items is to make them discreet. Like if you have to Identify them every time and can pick them up without knowing, some of these arts are Very Odd. Like it's difficult not to conclude the blade is magic if it's floating in three pieces.

Still, havent read all the rules yet, maybe there's a section on Very Obvious Magic...
