aka God gave man two heads, and only enough blood to work one.
*facepalm*
damsel in distress, so of course he's right there. Wants to be useful, needs to be needed. Such an insecure little sweetie. Also, daft. *sigh*
Richie wants to be James Bond. As the music keeps telling us. But also, albeit possibly for copyright reasons, it points out that he is not in fact getting it quite right.
Bond films have a lot to answer for. So many people trying to look that cool, so few realising its service and good works earns him the cool.
To be fair to Richie, he does try to do good things too. He just wants to have fun as well.
Always trying to get things the quick way, talk fast and smile. And scarily often it works for him.
Still trying to deny the complications of being Immortal vis a vis geography. Well with Mac as an example, it isn't as clear as Mac tries to make it. No going back to places where you're dead! Unless its a few miles away. Or the people who saw you mostly don't know it was you. Or...
Richie isn't being as radically dumb as it looks. But still, dumb.
I love him, but he sure do learn the hard way.
This is a cute comedy episode. I keep on wanting to figure how the music and suchlike would need tweaking to turn it into a major scary dramatic thing. I mean this one is all about fluffy romance and incompetent bad guys, but it could so easily be something else.
The moral message in this episode is so very not the point. Or else we'd learn two wrongs make a right, and armed robbery should be countered with kidnapping, fraud and extortion. Making him think he killed a guy, then using that to get the deeds to everything? Really really not legal. Or nice. But hey, is a comedy episode, don't think too hard. :eyeroll:
In the shallow observations column - please oh please never flashback to that fashion era again. Bad, bad, bad.
Richie in handcuffs and formal wear doesn't do as much for me as it once did. Is still a pretty idea, but not so brain melty today as it used to be.
Would be if Methos was the one with him though.
Richie falling for Marina (and, name is still amusing) - beautiful, blonde, french. Impressed by Tessa much?
"I don't know Mac, she drugged me, kidnapped me, tied me to a bed. If you ask me that's a pretty solid foundation for a relationship."
(which reminds me, must go work on Buffy fic...)
"I'm pretty good with my hands" otoh makes me think happy melty thoughts. Useful is sexy.
I pretty much like this episode. But it don't help the cause of taking Richie seriously one bit. He's the comedy sidekick, and doomed to remain so. *sigh*
