beccaelizabethSo this morning's dream was mostly about being an alien
but then the Doctor (Ten, in long coat and pointing a sonic screwdriver at me) turned up to save the humans
only the humans weren't the good guys and the 'aliens' were no such thing and he was totally on the wrong side
so I had to pin him down and explain it to him.
The 'aliens' were gene modified humans, at least third generation, meant as soldiers. It wasn't Britain that made them but when they captured some those started breeding so they'd been using them ever since. They had UV reactive tattoos to tell which side they were on and their name and number and stuff. If they got enough sunlight and a drug they called dust, they could pump up to practically Hulk level. Also, it felt really good. They'd happily do the fighting parts as long as they got to be naked in sunlight. The times they weren't fighting, they kept them underground, so they wouldn't get strong. Only, they also had to have controlled doses of sunlight to stay healthy at all, so they had tanning beds and those floaty light globes. And gradually over the generations they'd saved enough of the ones that were nearly run out to fill the attic with enough to get really really bright, and recharge if they ever needed it.
My character was someone who'd bred without a licence and run away with the baby and learned how to pass in human society and raised the kid human and then once he was all grown up gone to hunt down the president and demand freedom.
So, the usual.
I think the only really freaky part was the aliens starting off incredibly blonde and white, and then going fluorescent pink in the sun. I mean green is vaguely threatening, but its really hard to take seriously someone quite that shade of pink, no matter how muscular they are.
