Oct. 2nd, 2006 01:09 pmI was vaguely trying to remember which Shakespeare plays I've studied.
I can't remember if I studied Romeo & Juliet or just, like, absorbed it from TV etc.
We did Henry V, many good speeches in that one. I theoretically memorised that 'muse of fire' bit, and that band of brothers thingy.
Merchant of Venice sounds familiar. I have half a speech semi memorised anyways.
I think A level was Julius Caesar, but don't clearly recall. There was that whole not actually finishing or turning up for class issue.
I googled and there's a bit about being his mirror that stuck somewhere in the back of my head, so it was probably that one.
I don't think I've paid much if any attention to Shakespeare since school.
Don't know why. It was interesting and stuff. I just... haven't.
I don't think my brain likes quote memorisation. It gets hold of enough to google it and considers that entirely sufficient.
Buffyverse quoteage I'm better at, but it only tends to be a couple lines at a time anyways.
I watched some of those animated versions. As in, some parts of some plays. Isn't the best way to absorb, really.
Sometimes I wonder how I ended up on a lit course.
Then I remember its because the film course is full time.
