I'm watching something called Haunted. It is the middle of a series but from what I can gather so far it is about an ex cop who has a near death experience and comes back able to see ghosts, and be seen by them, and touched, and generally messed up. Haunted, in fact. It is dark - in the literal way too, which is always helpful - but mostly in the psychological way. This guy is cracking up, haunted by a guy he killed, and by the memory of his son's death.
My only questions so far are 'why have I never heard of this' and 'is it out on DVD'.
At this point the plot would have to turn very lame indeed for me to not be totally interested.
Is only on the half time adverts though, so there is still that possibility.
Okay, by the end of the episode... Great setup, slightly lame payoff. Ongoing plot has plenty of twist, but self contained plot either didn't or really depended on context. Plus, if someone is trapped in a car and can't unlock the door, you *break the window*, especially when you have a good 30 seconds of tension building. I guess they put that in there to make it clear he didn't just stand back and let her die, but, no, that made him look stupid as well as useless.
If this was the best episode of the season, the show was not great. If this was only middling, it may have achieved greatness. I'd watch it.
the Radio Times summary has some crap about 'friendly ghosts'. And really, *no*. These are not friendly cross over when they resolve their psychological issues ghosts. These are haunt your ass until you die because you killed them ghosts. Whole different deal

(better, though, and also more dark fantasy elements)
