Also in the context of this week it is interesting that Owen got left out, given his particular darkness. Keeps his dark out of the story as well as him.

Actually, watching it again, there's the scene in the cell where Tosh and Gwen between them seem to be doing Owen's job/speaking his lines, and I'm wondering if this one was filmed at around the time Burn Gorman's wife gave birth. Would certainly explain his rather odd absence in the episode!
