I find it irritating that my train of thought can be completely derailed by cute kitten pictures.
I'm sitting here having deep and meaningful theories about DW and then
10+KITTEN ZOMG CUTE!
... and I *facepalm* and go... I don't know, think about skulls and stuff some more.
... but, you know, cute. Very.
That Face of Boe secret, the not-alone thing - The only logical person it could be is The Master, on account of him being a Time Lord who quit being a Gallifreyan ages back so he could do surviving.
This makes me think it is not The Master. Because since when does DW do logic?
I read someone theorising he hitched a ride back to the 21st century in Jack
but I don't believe that, because what The Master wanted more than power was living forever, and Jack has that, so if he was in there, he wouldn't have quit
and many things he may be, but convincingly faking Jack I do not believe he was.
Now possessing Jack at the last minute, being in the TARDIS that turned up at the end of 1-13, this I was saying at the time. Because it would be cool. And there can be 'OMG U left me!' angst from both of them, sort of, depending if that summary of a book I read was right.
The other logical possibilities include Romana, who was in an alternate universe last time we actually saw her, Susan, just because we've heard of her, and any other Time Lord ever who can be retconned into being Really Important thanks to the Time War.
The further away from existing canon it gets the less satisfying it gets.
It could also be offspring of Doctor. Like, new ones. Then he wouldn't be alone any more.
Or, it could be all of Gallifrey getting fed up of him and exiling him in his head this time so he can't hear them. That would be ultra angsty and woeful.
I don't know, it would be funnest if The Master was alive and trying to bugger up time so the Time Lords come back, because then evil and not evil at once. I always like that.
Is probably him.
Or maybe Rassilon. Because obviously the get-out-of-jail-free card of Rassilon would save him.
... I'm kind of bored. If it's not The Master or Romana I'll be extra bored. Huh.
... Mostly I want to see Jack again.
... Though probably not with a goatee. That would complicate things rather.
One thing I don't want: The Master turns out to be the Doctor's long lost brother.
Because after slashing them for several decades that would just be icky.
