You know, I think there's something not quite right with me.
I just watched TW-1-08, including all stopwatch related scenes, and I'm just sort of... *shrugs*

Not only did my squee fall out, my vague interest followed it.

I basically only got out of bed today to eat.

Blah.

Wrote some bits about the special features

Watching the extras on the disc with 1-08

The Torchwood SUV was designed by people who think the A-Team van is the height of cool.
Explains. So. Much.

Deleted scenes:
interesting. But as per usual, glad they're gone.

1-06: Jack has a bit of a speech coming in with guns blazing. Preachy. But interesting.
Gwen has something to say about locking them up with the rest of the monsters.
Rhys tries to talk to her, notices she's not okay, and she lies to him to leave and go see Owen. That makes Rhys look better - the episode could be read as him being a bit oblivious - but Gwen look much worse.
1-07: Janet arrives. Now that's an interesting scene, but it doesn't fit thematically with the episode in any way I can figure. Janet was burying one of her children, and Jack tries to figure why, says it expands the emotional range Weevils were believed to have. Consider it's Janet he lets loose with a tracker later... adds spin, just in several directions.
Also the paperwork for UNIT was 50 reasons Torchwood can't look after a colony of spidery mouse things. Because Jack hates spidery mouse things. Shudders.
We've found a thing Jack fears ;-)

1-08 had a few extra lines in the Stopwatch scene. Jack tempted Suzie into that world, recruited her to Torchwood. Now I like that datum because if even his second in command was recruited by him then he's been there longer than anyone and built the team himself. My mini theory about how he wasn't so much employed as walked in at an opportune moment becomes more plausible ;-) And that Jack repeats it right then says he bought the guilt she was trying to load on him. Which is interesting, if *facepalm*. I mean, generally, people work with life saving tech all the time without going serial killer, so that whole =Jack's fault logic chain r dum.
But it do make that section more about Suzie and makes Ianto's proposition even more oddly timed. Without it then it's a general sex vs death moment, and slightly odd. With it... just a bit more. Although, Ianto *isn't* someone Jack drew in, Ianto was in before they met. Huh, wonder how that plays in how Jack sees him. I mean, how responsible he feels and stuff.

1-09 had a cute bit with a smarmy boss and coffee. Eugene blew on the coffee and made it spill on him. Bit Randall & Hopkirk, really. But... sex obsessed boss with coffee? Heh.
