See now I want to do a similar sort of thing with old Doctor Who episodes. I mean there's so many of them to play with.
Thing is if the Doctor meets himself out of order then he mostly just sort of pops in and says hello.
Also it would get into that very tricky thing with how can a time traveller be the only one left, cause the only way is to unhappen a lot of stuff, except people know about the Doctor so either he didn't get unhappened or... something complicated and brain breaky.
I think there was one with Methos where the first time the Doctor remembers meeting him is no longer the first time they meet because 9 or 10 or someone has to go do the meeting because the others went away.
That would be weird.
Except Sarah Jane knew him so he didn't went away.
... okay, so that dived right into the exact things about time travel that make my brain hurt ...
What I *mean* is it's always fun having new companions meet former companions, but it's also getting kind of difficult. So doing an episode like the tribble one would be almost like meeting only without the inconvenient passage of time issues.
I was thinking though it could be funnest if it was Jack and not the Doctor, because like I said usually the Doctor just says hi, but Jack would be all worried about breaking time.
Fanfic has done this. Quite a lot.
But... for reals?
Then it's just a question of figuring out which story really needs adding Jack to the background.
... actually I have a plot bunny involving ... Paradise Towers?
Because, if I recall correctly, there's only one man left there.
So, you know, possibility.
