Watched so far today: Four to Doomsday, and the first part of Kinda

androids and dancing and a language the Doctor doesn't know and Tegan does
and Tegan can draw really well
and read the manual and almost get the TARDIS to work
cool.

Also: Cricket ball! :-)

The more I get to see Adric, the happier I am I've seen the end of him.

Nyssa remains sort of... well, I'm sure she has a personality, sort of.



Kinda is trippy so far and I likes it.

But I pause because the laptop needs recharging.



I think my laptop has a better picture than my big TV.
The download files don't though. reallyreally.


I will of course buy the DVDs as fast as they make them - I have so far - but until they're all available, downloads it is.


I like that they have more characters around, I don't so much like the characters. Is a bit unhelpful really.


Doctor wears glasses. Little metal frames. Likes.

Ugh, Four to Doomsday. One of the only Davison serials I don't like that much (the other is Time-Flight).

Look, Adric isn't usually that... fucked up. The writer had NO idea what to do with him and turned him into a brat because complex characters are apparently too much of a stretch for him.

And you've got to know something about Australia to know how utterly fucked the language thing is. Currently, there's less than two hundred of them, and all but twenty are highly endangered. Only two hundred years ago, there were more like seven hundred. And these languages are hundreds of thousands of years old. Back then, there were more like THREE THOUSAND languages. The fact that Tegan would know a 35,000 year old Aboriginal language isn't just unlikely, it's utterly impossible, let alone knowing that particular one! Hell, it's extremely unlikely she'd know an Aboriginal language TODAY, unless she lived in some of the Aboriginal communities in Queensland, Northern Territory or Western Australia.

...Sorry for ranting. But ARGH INACCURACY!! And not a little inaccuracy, a GREAT BIG WHOPPING INACCURACY!

(On the other hand, Four to Doomsday has the line, "I took five wickets once, for New South Wales." NSW is my home state. SUCK ON THAT, VICTORIA!)

actually is one of the rules of writing that people accept the impossible without blinking but get annoyed at the merely improbable. So it figures.

but TV can only be inaccurate compared to this world. in that world it can only be inconsistent.

Well, that isn't improbable, it's downright impossible. There is actually science (well, sort of XD) behind the TARDIS, but there's NO WAY Tegan could have known that language.

And yeah, Victoria is a state. Its capital (Melbourne) and NSW's capital (Sydney, my city) are pretty fierce rivals. ...The last time I said 'suck on that, Victoria!', I gave Taleya very wrong images XD
