OMGOMGOMG
that was *so so cool*
*squeeeeeeeeee*
THE MASTER!
Oh my god cool!
With the Chameleon arch!
So now it was a Clue
and extra cool.
... now I'm watching the Confidential and JB is doing 'singing in the rain' and *LOL*
Utopia: So very cool.
And the advertising: So totally misleading! Fun!
... oh *dear*, now the Confidential is about fart jokes. *facepalm*
Okay I'm currently so squeeful about the Master - and how *cool* was that! - that my Jack squee is actually lined up behind it to take it's turn.
... it's not that I like the Master *more* it's just I've liked him *longer*
about Jack and why everyone fancies him: "he makes people feel good about themselves"
... this is fun.
and highlighting how many different looks his hair has managed.
Okay, Jack and the Doctor having a conversation - a serious proper conversation - where they can't touch or run away or anything. So it works out rather different than all the fanfic.
.. yes that's the only reason, clearly.
So Jack has a vortex manipulator - which must have some sort of limitation that made it not an escape from the bomb or else they're being very annoying - and he landed in 1869 and lived continuously since then. Youch.
The Doctor said he ran away.
... oooh ...
and Jack calls him prejudiced
and that whole thing with John Smith becomes *themey* and links in because the Doctor ran and he turned into prejudice guy and...
they ran the start of Utopia again and yet again I say "you bastard" to the screen.
"and he goes off without me" and they start off mostly talking to Martha. Heh.
Yet Jack is so joyful just running after the Doctor.
And the Doctor won't let him flirt with anyone else!
or shoot people
because he's responsible for him now?
... oooh ...
"oh she was blonde!"
heh
"Was someone kissing me" :-)
And Jack stripping off to go in the radiation? "I look good" *facepalm*
... although it do make sense to leave the precious outside in case.
"Ever since I ran away from you."
that makes it so personal.
All the actions, the work-together, has Jack and the Doctor click straight away. They do that throwing things thing of teaminess. And also "sir"
Earth, 1892 - fight Ellis Island shot through the heart
fell off a cliff, trampled by horses
stray javelin
and why he doesn't want to die - seeing humans at the end of the universe :-)
I like.
"because you're wrong"
"prejudiced"
hee
"the Doctor learns there that actually he's been wrong to do this"
yaaays! Writer says it"
"That's what men are like. They have to be in the middle of a nuclear rocket crisis and have a door between them [...] and then they decide to have a chat."
I love the eyecontact stuff they've got going there.
I want to watch that again again again. Lots of agains. Because they're having talking!
And okay, we all want them to kiss, but the talking is rather necessary.
Futurekinds - I love the teeth. I don't much like the use of bodymod piercings and tattoos to indicate bestiality. Because frankly tattoos are a very artistic thing that takes a lot of cooperation and planning and stuff. I mean if they didn't trust each other they couldn't poke each other with needles enough to make those big patterns.
I love this episode so much I'm not remotely coherent about it, let alone having deep thoughts.
On the other hand that whole plot was just a teensy skinny, a very thin wrap for the conversations that keep going on.
... tattoos as motorbike tyre tracks? *facepalm*
"wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley"
*facepalm again*
I love it that the Doctor is so openly admiring of the Professor... and then he turns out to be the Master. That's just awesome.
... watching the guy in "dad's coat" size jacket doing the sparky effect on the keypad... hee...
So this is a three part finale? I mean this leads in to the next part pretty direct and then they're not going to have a standalone last part.
JB saying Futurekind=scary. heh.
everyone saying they was scared. Cool!
This episode would have been awesome cool even if it was just oneor the other part of it.
Jack being back is awesome, the Master being back is awesome. Both in the same episode? OMG it's incredibly awesome.
Derek Jacobi is a DW fan :-D
awesome!
Incidentally, the Professor's costume? Excellent. Me wants a waistcoat and stuff.
DT got DJ's autograph stage door in school... fanboys! Cool!
the Master took the Utopia coordinates disc. I'm thinking that's prety bad for humanity.
... Is Professor Yana any kind of anagram?
... I'm in the habit...
You know what? I was noticing it was slashy *even before* I knew he was the Master. So that's the 100% record kept then.
Win!
"this might be someone's first episode"
god help them if it is... I mean it's awesome cool, but as an intro?
I guess it is an intro to the Master for many people... woah...
So I guess next episode is where they set up who the Master is, how wicked he was or could be
to set up the stakes for the last ep.
I love all the ways Jack's immortality plays into it. Dead through the vortex, dead with wires, and then in the radiation room.
Confidential just pointed out that look in his (DJ's) eyes moment right after the Master wakes up in him... yeah, that was brilliant, very brilliant.
I loved that 'I am the Master' bit; I was saying it along with him by then because it was just so cool.
Also because the subtitles came up so I knew it a beat early.
I like what the lady playing the insect person was saying about being the last and attaching to someone.
I also love the makeup. It does look alien but peopley at once. Lovely.
"cute bug" :-)
mandible acting :-)
Jack flirting - "stop it" :-)
"Even if they are blue with mandibles you assume that's what they look like" *facepalm lol*
And they made her insectoid so the show wouldn't get xenophobic. Yaays!
Master on the TARDIS!!!
oh yes, oh *yes*, cool!
yaays!
... TARDIS looking like a big ball cut in half is just weird...
regeneration exactly as the 9-10 regeneration
just helps to spell out?
well yes, but it's also the Doctor=Master connection that's been lurking in the subtext since forever
futurekind, what we become, Doctor as schoolmaster... hiding with the chameleon arch = master, heee!
Regeneration!
the Master!
... I hope they tell us how he *got* some regenerations. And to be a Time Lord again. You know, just the little things.
And John Simm being the Master like we all heard way in advance.
... all that forward a bit up a bit drop two inches part... glamour of being an actor! Win.
... I still love that waistcoat and shirt combination...
And now JS being the Master and really going for it. Yaays!
"I'm going to impress my son. There's no way I can say no to this."
sweet!
Time Lords go loopy when they regenerate... oh yes, that explains it... heh...
chat-plans-stop me = funny :-)
"End of the universe. have fun. bye bye!"
:-D
Somebody might be the Doctor's equal... oh yeah.
and now we get a Master flashback... as preview for next time's confidential. That's what I thought, they'll spend next week selling the threat. Nifty.
*happy happy happy happy happy happy*
