Any kind of feedback welcome, even the kind where you tell me all the ways it is all wrong. Actually, especially that kind. This is unbetaed, and could probably be improved.

trkkr47 recced me here. Yay. Really liked it. With *gasp* plot and everything and plot that ran to thought and yay!

I esp. like your Ripper/Giles characterization. And the bits at the beginning about how it's all pastede on and fake, and how that's really what the story is about: exteriors and facades melting away to reveal what's inside, and how that can be actually kind of gross and unnerving, and then oddly beautiful at the end.

And there were bits that made me smirk happily. Very fun story. Thanks.

I liked it - I can hear their "real" voices, which means the dialog works for me. I can just see Ethan getting into that kind of trouble - he just doesn't know how to plan ahead, does he?

I think Ethan plans to a specific goal without much thinking on how things will go beyond that point. Or, to be precise about BtVS era Ethan, with gleeful anticipation of his lack of ability to predict what happens next. So he'll get to 'get x-ray vision' or 'turn everyone into teenagers' and think that is plenty of planning, then kind of see what happens.
And then what happens is bad things for Ethan.
Yet he never lets that put him off :eyeroll: *and sekrit admiration*

Love the thought you've put into what Ethan and Ripper know at this point in their lives, and what they're yet to learn, especially what Ripper obviously does not know about exersizing his own power.

what they know yet- not a whole lot. What they're yet to learn- everything that turns G from schoolboy to our Giles. Which is a lot.
Learning is interesting.
