Have watched 'Pan's Labyrinth'.
... ow?
That was a story that really went where it was going. Messily. With showing you all the mess.
Hmmm, that doesn't say it right... I mean there was a lot of anatomy going on, sliced up meat, and people getting shot and stuff. And lots of death. And it was like, there's two worlds in the story, and they fit together and they don't, and it gives the ending that both worlds demand. Both endings. With the right one going last.
It is going to be difficult to rewatch.
Strong story I feel like I'm missing layers of.

Yeah, I actually had several friends recommend specifically that I not see it, so I didn't. I'm thinking they were right...

It was a rather brutal movie, wasn't it? I'm not one to shy away from randomy violent flicks (I just saw 'Black Sheep' which is like 'Shaun of the Dead' but made in New Zealand and... has evil people eating sheep!) but in a movie like 'Pan's labyrinth', I found myself expecting the camera to cut away like a movie usually does.

The fantasy aspect of it was wonderful. But the realistic pain/suffering was just crazy. Though I suspect that's more to make the shocking of the WWII era Franco-powered Spain world all the more vicious.
