Two Doctors, zero interest
Dec. 14th, 2007 03:06 amI watched 'The Two Doctors'
the one I got signed at the weekend.
... it is now three in the morning. that should be oops. but I don't have college tomorrow, ha! er, I do have a couple things I was going to do, but not college, so that's okay.
... as long as nobody expects me to be awake in the daytime or anything.
ANYway
that was a bit slow and clunky and silly and, well, kind of bad.
6 is difficult to put up with really.
also it would have helped if someone noticed bouncy does not make up for whiny. Even bouncy and barely dressed. really.
There's bits of it that were kind of cool but it needed quite a lot of work to see it that way.
There's a rather unexpected amount of cannibalism in there.
The Doctor decides to be vegetarian, after nearly eating a cat.
... there's a really obvious joke there but I'm not going to.
So basically the difference with Countrycide was it was humans with no excuse. Aliens has the excuse of being alien and thinking we don't count. Humans who still think we don't count is the grown up version.
... and also there was all that mess and skeletons and stuff. not very family viewing neither.
The 6th Doctor's clothes are so ghastly that when he turns up in my dreams they automatically tone it down. I don't think I can dream that many colors and patterns at once. I'm rather relieved about that.
The Sontarans looked bad. Wrong. Not big enough of clunky enough, and their mouths didn't work, and their armour was not very armour-y.
I liked all the double crossing and stuff. And not-Servalan of course. Swishy silver dress=yaay.
But there's a lot of running around pointlessly, and people getting killed and ate, and people deciding to change their evil plan mid plan even when their one seemed to be working, and, well, mostly just no.
