bilingual bunnies

Writing it would require me being able to speak more than one language, including Welsh.
*sulks*
Ianto was ill, tied to a bed somewhere in the Hub. Er, in proper medical restraints I mean, not the other sort of tied up I just got a very nice mental image of. So, Ianto was stuck, couldn't use hands or type or look things up. Could talk, but he was stuck on repeat. Whatever was up with him he had this one thing he could say but it seemed very important.
Owen reported that he was saying "Make Movies" and set dream-me to looking stuff up that might make that make any kind of sense.
... because dream-me works in the Archives with Ianto. Shhh. I has well trained subconscious.
So, anyways, making that make sense would take a hell of a lot of work, and it bugged me because I was sure we was missing something. So I googled around and of course google has that "did you mean" and I had brainwave. Ianto bilingual, not speaking English!
So then there was finding someone to translate - Jack, he's been in Wales for long and long and long and can understand a bunch of stuff - and then there was a Plan, for Ianto had given us a clue.
Couple of problems - they live in a country that has bilingual signs, including that massive great one opposite their front door. I think they'd think of that one themselves. I mean the local doctors around here have leaflets in Portugese, and that's just a big minority round here, not your actual majority like Welsh people in Wales. So for Owen to not think "hmmm, maybe it's like when I worked in a hospital and upset people only remembered their spoke it when they were small language" would be a bit of a stretch. Possible if I had he be awake way too long though, for all stupidity becomes possible then. Also becomes more likely if whatever it is sounds enough like English as might almost make sense. Send him up the wrong track and it's more likely than if he never understood it in the first place.
Which leads to the second problem: I have enough trouble speaking English. I don't even know what all the sounds are in Welsh.

Had also the side thought that he might be calling for his Mum. And everyone would rush to translate and then be all *facepalm* and think that's not a clue. And then someone would point out it depends who his mum is, and go look things up. And then she'd turn out to be ex UNIT and travelled in the TARDIS...
