You know the episode stuff? Background for The Electro, a leaflet about it's history and multiple renamings, is up on the website. And... well... it could of course be a cock up, but it's much more interesting if it's a clue.
"But now, after standing derelict for almost 30 years, the Electro is set to re-open its doors."
you get that?
Ianto said "I love this place. I used to come here with my dad. They'd show kids films on a saturday morning."
So Ianto, and his dad, went to a cinema that has been closed for thirty years.
And it wasn't always called the Electro. Only the years between 1931 and 1969.
So if Ianto went specifically to the Electro with his dad... he did it at the latest at the end of the 60s.
... plot bunny anyone?
Actually, plot bunny the second - I was reading a summary of Blade Runner today - you know how replicants have manufactured memories ...?
But I was thinking last week the clues could look like Ianto skipped some time and his parents got old without him. That would be just neat.

I looked up the songs Ianto mentions from his Abba conversation in Twilight Streets. "One of Us" from 1981 is the latest of them. If he was 14 then, he'd have been 2 when the Electro changed it's name. But he'd have been 11 when it closed, so that's doable.
However, one suspects the pop cultural connotations of Abba would not have been quite the same at the time, yesno? So Gwen's assumption his mum had him figured out would then be silly.
Other pop culture he's mentioned = James Bond. He did a JB marathon when he started at Torchwood. Was watching Goldfinger in the office. 1964. But sort of meaningless too, because he could have started liking it after he got here. If he time slipped. Which he probably didn't.
