Mar. 24th, 2008 01:16 amAm watching Doctor Who and the Silurians. Have watched first four parts. Now must stand up to put the other bits in apparently. Is far too much work.
They spend many parts not actually showing you a Silurian. This is a good idea. It takes much application of imagination to make rubber suits scary, even if they've got an interesting design, like here.
Other thoughts:
Mini skirts!
Brains!
... Avon?
Brigadier!
... no, really, Avon?!
/thought
other thing though - if all this is how humans in 'verse tend to react to aliens, with the screaming and nervous breakdowns and all, then much as I hate to say it the Torchwood attitude makes more sense. I mean, it don't really help to tell people things if they're just going to go all wurbley and draw on the walls. The only problem being I can't see at all how so many of them are going all wurbley. I mean, blah. So I'm hoping there is some kind of psi effect reason in the remaining parts.
