Jun. 25th, 2008 10:20 pmI went to the last class of the Dr Who course :)
No, wait, that's a :( Cause now there's no more Doctor Who course.
It felt like a whirlwind tour. We could totally spend all that time on just one season.
Actually if you start getting really picky you can spend a lot of time on just one episode.
So, anyway, tonight was half about Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures. Yaays!
I, er, spent the evening trying to judge the difficult balance between 'talking about my favourite thing in the world ever' and 'letting other people do talking sometimes, now and then, and possibly not boring them quite so much'.
I was talky.
Given that I was stuttery until I actually got to class, talky is pretty cool.
I gave everyone my LJ Address. *waves hi*
... *hopes I hasn't said anything rude* ...
*shrugs*
Hi, slightly mad, don't worry, am quite distant now.
Must remember to email the essay to the teacher. After I've put the right quote from the Dissertations book in instead of teh Buffyquote. I mean, they say roughly the same thing, but there's sources that are proving you did studying and there's sources that... aren't. Oh, also a bibliography is nice. I gave back the Tulloch & Alvarado to the library unread. But I think the rest of the list I read everything that was in the library and some more that I bought for myself. And, er, bought some of the library ones. So, quite a big list, really.
... I got to study Doctor Who for ten weeks with a whole university library to play with.
And the good thing is now I've got the hang of getting to the UEA I can continue to use their library for other units. Which will improve my grades and make me look shiny. And also is fun.
I say I've got the hang of going. Today's little anxiety reoccurence really didn't help. But I was cool, I was fine, I was leaving the house... several hours after I planned. I did 4/5 items on the To Do list and avoided the one that now makes more sense sometime after the Doctor Who finale. I have appointments for new hair (Before Bad Wolf) and new glasses (after Bad Wolf, because the NHS won't pay for it until the second half of July like last time). I put the money in the bank. And then I had ten minutes to spare and went to wait for the bus.
And waited.
And waited.
No sodding bus. Not just one but two bus. In a row. No bus. Did not arrive. For an entire bloody hour.
Grr! Arrgh!
So then one of the No 4 buses that go around all the little villagey places and take an hour to get there turned up. I haven't been using them because I go to Borders before I go out to the UEA and I like the X1 bus route better than the twisty single lane maze the village bus goes through. But the 4 has the big advantage of dropping off actually at UEA, and so takes about the same amount of time as the two bus version. So I got that bus.
On the way out of town we passed the next X1 to actually turn up. I stuck my tongue out.
... I are being grown up when world are cooperative. And also, bus go too fast to notice.
So the bus dropped me off across the road from the UEA.
I like crossing the road better when the cars don't keep going when there's a green man.
I mean I know the ambulance has a good reason, but them other cars after it have no excuses. Bad they.
Then I emailed S3 friend @ UEA, and turns out she could chat today too. Which was cool.
Due to the bus situation the union food outlet was closed before I got there. Which was not cool. I been eating out of there for 9 weeks, I not have alternate plan. So I got drink out a machine, but it tasted funny. So I went in the open food place, but there were Manymany people in there, much busy, crowds, very arrgh. But I found Ribena, so yaay.
... I forgot to drink the Ribena. I finished the funny tasting Fanta. Oh dear.
So then I chatted to people. Stood outside class and did talking.
Then there was class, with more talking.
And then after class I talked some more.
It's actually possible nobody in the Dr Who class knows I stutter.
That's pretty damn awesome. Considering to get to N-Norwich or the U-u-university I usually have to wave a card at the driver. Somehow I'm fluent about the, um, important things.
Now I need a new plan for what to do in other weeks.
All the way until next college year.
*blinks*
I think there's a science fiction group I got leaflets for. And there's the DW group that didn't turn up. and... stuff? Unknown. Oh, right, UNITE is on first Wednesdays, I could give that another go now class is done. Mostly though I want to go talk to My Tribe, which means people who can talk about Doctor Who and similar and not look at me funny when I quote it. Is tricky to find.
There's also going to London to look at things. The Doctor Who exhibition makes most sense if I leave it until after the finale. The British Museum is good any time. But this month has two big outings in it anyway, Bad Wolf and going to see Hamlet. I think I can get new glasses before Hamlet, eye test is 22nd and Hamlet is 30th, I'm sure there's glasses done quick somewhere. And then I'll be able to sit further back and still know who is on stage.
I think that's today done.
I have a backlog of lesson notes to post. I'll do them tomorrow when I have brain to proofread with.
Now... just food and sleep I think. Cool.
ooops, remembered the other thing on the list - buy new blankets. Er, oops? Oh well, one more night of coolth not a problem.
