happy now :-)

Ambassador for Wales!
Glowy Angel!
... damsel in distress ...

So, Ianto had a fun story.

I think I like both that they had an entire story devoted to being sad about Tosh and Owen and that it isn't an episode of the regular TV series. This works as a coda but would make a weird season opener, you know? It's too much about looking back.

The 'I'm Owen! No, I'm Tosh! No, secretly Lisa!' aspect would have worked considerable better if it didn't sound like silly growly monster voice. I mean, as is, it do make Ianto look stupid for falling for it again. And I'm not even sure he did fall for it, just got really ill.

I actually do like that it's Ianto playing damsel. He's closest to the dead. Jack has the whole revolving door thing, yeah, but he's got such a looooong list and most of it people we don't know about. His balance has to be different. Ianto has lost three that we knew in detail, and he's pretty young. Plus his Jack makes the whole 'the dead stay dead' thing a bit more difficult to believe. Jack has long experience to believe it, Ianto has... well, in a sense, Lisa, Owen, and Jack all prove the contrary case. Easy to get muddled.

Suzie is turning into the Jesse of Torchwood. Dies in the first episode, characters that should know her forget about her thereafter. I mean, Ianto knew her from between when he joined TW3 to when she died. So there's got to be significant difference between associations made in that part of his life - when he was holding back - and Owen and Tosh, who he knew longer and better. Lisa, Owen, Tosh, those are the people he'd want to bring back. Suzie doesn't make the list.

Gwen has lost so many? Gwen lost two that we know about. Rhys came back really quick. Who else?

So, anyways, theme was life/death and loss and memory and all that good stuff. That worked.

I also like it that it's a problem with neutrons, so how do they fix it?
Reverse the polarity...

I'll have to listen to it again to judge it properly. I kept on stumbling over the difference in format, or thinking they'd never have said that line that way on TV. Which isn't helpful.
Also my TV's sound problems kicked in somewhere in the middle and I had to fiddle with buttons to get it hearable again. My TV has problems, my recorder box has problems, they're just made of problem really. I only use them once a week though so I always forget to do something about it.

But I think it was a nice little story.

I don't think the Alien would have mentioned Suzie, because I don't think Ianto would have wanted her back. She's sympathetic, but still a multiple murder/mental programmer who would kill him in a second so she could live.

Just what I was thinking. Suzie thoroughly traumatized everyone the LAST time she came back from the dead.

Word on the alien voice. It was so damn cheesy and unscary. No one would fall for that.

You're right that it works as a ooda but not a season opener.

The only problem with it being a radio show is that you can't make icons of it!
