I've been looking in the Tesco catalog, the Extra one on paper that they put in with the shopping last week.

Why did nobody tell me we're living in the future?

Digital photo frames were sci fi movie stuff once upon a time, and now they're grocery shopping place stuff.

MP3 players are tiny. And have more space than my first half a dozen computers.
(Which ones are good for listening to audiobooks? Are they all good? I have no idea.)
(And if they're bigger than flash sticks for samelike money then what's the difference in storage? Can you just backup your text files to your mp3 player?)

And there's spy robots in the kids toy section. And first laptops that do more than some actual laptops of bygone eras. And cameras that actually look more appealing than the grown up ones, cause the pictures say you can drop it down stairs or into water and it'll still work.

And you can has your own triceratops. Not a piddly little solid plastic thing, but a sit on thing for small children, that moves, and, apparently, sings. Who thought up a singing triceratops?

I don't think there's a single thing in the whole catalog I actually want.
They've invented so many things it never occured to me to want them.

We are living in the future, and in most glorious abundance.

Of course food, fuel, shelter, and daily essentials are a bit of a bugger to acquire compared to actual pay, but you know, in theory, humans has so much stuff...
