Before class tomorrow we are to cut n paste from web pages the poems we will be studying in class. Poems are listed as 1, 2, 3 etc on the handout. Poems are labelled I II III etc on the web page. It's little irritations like this that annoy me out of all proportion. I mean, presumably the teacher knows which poems she means in roman numerals. Is the point of the exercise to teach the other 30 of us, or does she just not notice? Grumble grumble grumble.
Also, what does the renaissance have against the letter v?
I realise spelling was optional and creative, but u and v are either backwards or random, I haven't quite figured yet.
It does explain something about the Ovid translation I've been reading and how many syllables it thinks there are in heavenly (heauenly presumably has some weird groan in the middle and is in less pieces) but it's still just irritating. I mean, is loue pronounced love and they just couldn't be bothered making it pointy?
This is what I get for saying out loud that renaissance language didn't bother me like Chaucer language does. The words don't, but the spelling, oooh that's going to drive me nuts...
