snow snow ice ice crunch crunch slip slide yow crunch. ... I realised somewhere on the way between the bus stop and the library in the snow, with the buttons gone sproing off my coat, and snow going down my... MP3 player pouch... maybe the library was not in fact that urgent tonight. :eyeroll: But hey, made it home in one piece. Win.

I am okay. I just realised somewhere between UEA and town, with the bus announcing to anyone getting on that it was the *last* bus, contrary to schedule, and the talking-to-bus-driver radio telling them to stick to main roads and avoid all sorts of places, and the snow and the ice and the slip slide crunchiness of the whole world by then, that I had made quite a fool plan when I'd set out for the UEA library in the first place, and it was rather past time to go home. Not to mention that the bus back to Dereham only runs once an hour and I thought I'd missed that hour's one. Instead it had not arrived, and still hadn't arrived ten minutes late, but the number 8 konectbus ran later than I had thought so I ran and caught that and now I'm home.

I will start going to the NSFG meetings when it doesn't involve slip slide crunch yowch grr arrgh.

The last bit between the bus stop and my house was an adventure too.

stupid snows. I stay home. snow can happen outside.

ETA: OMG, local news alert for accidents on my route home? Norfolk police were called to 63 road traffic collisions this morning, and a spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said it attended 19 crashes between midnight and 1.30pm and conveyed to hospital in nine of those.
Next time, I'm staying home.

I swear, I checked the weather warnings before I left, and it was all green! It's sitting there looking green on my computer now, before I refresh! After? Not so much. At all. Anywhere. *facepalm*
Heavy snow and icy roads? You think?

On the plus side I did survive college plenty good. I got my essay back, and the things I thought were stupid were indeed stupid. Too many quotes, not enough thinking. This is what happens when I have not enough thinking, I throw quotes at a page and hope they stick. Then in the actual lesson I had not done the homework, but that worked out okay, because the reading I had done turned out to be exactly what I needed to do the lesson. Also to do the assignment. I gave the book back today because it's a 7 day book and everyone else should read it due to it being ultra useful. Probably I'll need it back before the assignment time.

Spent many minutes talking F&SF with someone I discover is SF fan planning to write about it for her degree. Lots to talk on. And we talked vampires and werewolves and the teacher sat down and listened and I managed to totally make it about our assigned work. And not just in my head. Probably.

And then I caught a bus right outside college because SNOW and slip slide and it's okay when the icy feet go crunch but I do not want to go crunch, and I don't like the idea of transport going crunch, and really I should have left it at that, but I'd read the book and given back the book and our library had no more book (because someone has them all) but the UEA has plenty book, so off I went.

It was productive. I have books. I got my password fixed, and got my laptop to remember how to play with UEA wifi.

It just would probably be better idea to do this when the sky water wasn't freezing and making the ground attack.

Plenty good day, that was.

I look forward to being all warm again.
