big plans, small problems

today I had a Plan. It's roughly the same plan I've had for every non-college day for the past two weeks, but I got everything that was higher up in the plans done, so it is now the next plan. My plan was to take the things for charity to the charity shop in the shopping trundle (wheels! Yaays!) and then go buy the foods that tesco doesn't stock. Simples!
... I woke up at 0400 because I had a splitting headache that hurt more when I moved. Application of ibuprofen, orange juice, and chips and baked beans (my winter default breakfast) shifted it to being a nagging headache that hurt when I moved a lot, or wrong. It may possibly be gone now. That would be nice.
But I've checked the weather predictions for the day. They reckon 5C at best and light rain turning into heavy rain. It only turns into snow after midnight. At which point it'll be snow on ice and I can stay inside until it goes away again. But, do I really want to go out in the currently probably not raining but you never know cold and difficult outside world? I could take my coat to mum to get the buttons back on. That would be useful. But because that needs doing I have no coat that is both warm enough and does up. And waterproof is only a feature of the one layer of my outerwear, which doesn't actually do up over the really warm coat because too big/small in combination. So I stack up all these reasons.
... I like to think I'd have braved the weather if that were the only problem. Much as I joke about it I can't in fact hibernate until the snow stays gone. And it wasn't actually bad being out in the snow last time, just foolish in the slip slide way.
But I suspect no trundling into town will happen today.
And town is only the other end of my building!
I must keep that in mind while deciding what's a reasonable distance to live from the things I need.
