I saw the dragon film :-)
We nearly missed it. We missed a couple minutes at the start but I decided I'd rather miss a couple minutes than not see the film. We got stuck in traffic, sitting still type traffic, for a bunch of minutes, and then A chose the route with the most traffic ever and tried to drive down the road that is basically the bus station for inside-Norwich buses. Also at the start I had to go back for my notepad. And my drink. And my stick because by then my leg suggested it was going to hurt. So all in all ending up 25 minutes after posted start time wasn't bad going. :eyeroll: But the bit I was least happy with was when I asked 'have we got time for an errand?' and A said 'yes' and I took my cleaning in before we left. We did not have time for that. *sigh*

The film was great. Though finding seats with the lights down and with the 3D movie going on without the 3D glasses on was a bit odd. We sat in the first seats we found, right down the front. And then got glasses on and could see what was going on.

3D really works for this movie. There's lots of *down*, and also bits where ash or flame sparks go down and they feel a lot nearer you than the characters. It was fun. I don't so much like bits where things are out of focus on purpose for being far away and you try and refocus and it don't work. Your eyes get puzzled.

I liked the story a lot. And the dragons. And the stuff with disability, and the inventing replacement parts. And how it was about using your observations not just taking on another generation of what your parents did. All good stuff.

I noticed the women did same things like the men, but I also noticed there were two speaking roles for women and half a dozen for men. Why is 50/50 so difficult? It's puzzling.

While walking out again my leg had gone a bit stiff sitting in the cinema chairs so I was limping, and I really noticed it, and felt all melodramatic and silly about it because of how the film ends. :eyeroll:

Am happy I went to see film. Was good. Was also worth the trip to see cinema scale.

I saw that movie in 3-D too! *g* Very enjoyable - I was listening out for David Tennant's cameo but totally missed it. ^_^;;;

Yes: even more puzzling is that the original book series is written by a woman!!!!!!! I guess even women writers think that little girls don't want to read about vikings and dragons?
(When I was little my imaginary friends were: like Amy Pond, the Doctor ^__^, and two dragons)
