Someone posted SG-11 pictures.

Which reminds me I haven't posted my con report.

Is shorter than usual. And suffering from more than usual amounts of brain fuzz. There's this feeling where I'm not sure stuff didn't only happen in my head. I get that feeling a lot. It hasn't been true very much lately, but YOU NEVER KNOW. So I fear to post.

Anyways, I'll drag out the laptop and put the report in here. I typed it up while at college but couldn't post from there because the laptop doesn't just plug in to the network there.

Yes, I did studying too. All the reading. Just... finished the report first.

I might not get to SG12. I don't think I'll book so far in advance. If I leave it until the last minute I can see if I'll be able to avoid Mondays next school year. I hate missing classes.

But the gaps between semesters are pretty big, and I think I'll be able to find some conventions that fit in them.

Right now, I am booked for zero conventions. None. Not one.

This is fundamentally unnatural and must be fixed.

Conventions, yaay :-)

I realised I'm on none of the lists that would have other people's con reports. Like, zero. None. Anywhere. I only saw those pictures because I was poking someone else's friends list.

It is 0430 in the morning. It is much less fun being awake at 0430 when the reason is not to do with party.

On the plus side far fewer muscle groups hurt right now. Swings and roundabouts.

I have no photos of me, because I have no working camera. But I was assured I looked great. Often. By each and every guest in fact.
Made. Of. Win.

I had sleep :-)
Now, obviously, I am awake again. :eyeroll:

I had a strange sad sort of dream involving Wesley Wyndham Pryce. It was about misuse of magic as a sort of aphrodisiac+fertility spell to inlfluence inheritance. Dream-Wes was in a happy stable relationship with a guy and his father had paid to make sure there would be another generation of Wyndham-Pryce and then things got kind of fucked up.

That was a mess.

And then there was a part where people found this house, and there was like a million dollars in a suitcase, and the doors weren't locked and it looked like someone had left in a hurry and there were a whole bunch of different people trying to decide what to do with it. It was kind of like a reality show, but run by organised crime. A bit Satellite 5 in the exit penalties really.

After that there was this bit where I had the best flat in the world. It was kind of like if the Torchwood Hub had been done with daylight lighting in mind, mixed in a bit with that award winning building I saw on a website the other day that has a big smooth cone up the middle, and then having lots and lots of different layers in a spiral around the middle. And decorated in shiny silky fabrics as well as lovely bare wood.
And then used to film Doctor Who. And filled with memorabilia in random corners.
Awesome.

They'd sent someone around to tap dance on all the floors, just on the off chance they needed a floor with a particular sound. A whole file on floor sounds. Cool.

And then there were these stairs that went round in big swoopy spiral and had a handrail but on the other side of that had a big silky red-purple fabric thing where it was all made of like wavey cushiony spikes with rounded bumps between, but you could sit on it and push off and it would let you sliiiiiiide all the way down.

Very cool.

Less cool was the way when I went up there I discovered a structural fault.
By going straight through the floor, of course.

Why my dreams can't just have a lovely bit of architecture and no dramatic climax I don't know.

So there was dangling, and power tools, and being dragged back up, and then being kicked out again. Because I owned it, and I'd started to move stuff in, from the other flat I was staying in that was really kind of tatty, but I'd been leaving it empty for the DW people to film in. Only now when I wanted to use it the floor went crunch.

It had like a dining room that was a balcony, like stuck out from the pillar into space, with little chair sets on it. In the dream this was the coolest eating area ever.

In RL I would run away and hide so fast. I'm not great with heights. I can go there if there isn't a choice but they make my stomach do flipflops.

*sigh*

I'm going to try and sleep some more. I hear there's like a minimum amount of hourse recommended for humans.

I had a Torchwood thought when I was doing reading for Drama yesterday. The bit about the stage, the use of space, the claustrophobia in A Doll's House brought about by it being set in one box room and the use of doors.
I was going to poke the thought tool at Torchwood and see what it made of it.
But I'd probably better sleep before attempting that.

er, food arrives anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours, and cleaner arrives about 2 hours, and sleep will not happen soon. so I write a placeholder thingy and come back.

My CueCat scanner arrived from LibraryThing and I just put two books in just by wooshing it along the barcode :-)
Way to save gigantic amounts of typing!

... on books young enough to *have* a barcode. Come to think, the vast majority of my typing has been on the other sort, the really ancient ones which often lack ISBN let alone handy swipe thing.

But hey, basically? Time saver!

... and also kind of cute and cool as a techy toy ...

Damn that was good.
Captain Jack.
Anyone that was wondering if John Barrowman can act?
That would be a *yes*.

Whole conversations in facial expression in that one. *Love* it.

This show is hitting so many of my kinks. It's like somebody collected all the good bits from all my old fandoms and poured them in together and then added actual slash.

I have whirlwind thoughts because too much cool in too small a space.

(entirely unspoiled) Predictions for next week: Read more... )

I absolutely love this show. I really really do.

Now I need to attempt to get 8 hours sleep before 0645 tomorrow. Wish me luck.
