I didn't know quite what to make of this one. I don't think not being a cartoon any more detracted from it, cause the visuals on audio are always better anyway. And I like Evelyn. Lots. Always. And I liked how it was a bit twisty and unexpected. But I couldn't figure the ending. Did the Doctor lose?? It seemed like they'd just set up the whole cybermen win thing all over again. Was that the point? I don't know. And since I like endings where the Doctor wins I decided that was what happened and haven't listened to it over again to figure it out. :eyeroll:

Possibly if I paid more attention I'd get more out of it. Oops.

I liked the bit at the beginning explaining that the Doctor is not wearing That Coat any more. It was clunky and awkward and culture clash-y and about not communicating and also about being really clear that it's not that coat any more and by the way also it is blue and only blue. I can't imagine the headaches in trying to animate the 6th Doctor's usual coat, even really simple animation. But once it's on CD it sounds like someone sulked until they got a better costume for audio. Which makes it funny.

That costume from Cyberwoman has precedent, because the Cybermen in this one were part converted with lots of skin. There's little pictures on the CD (and on the website, linked below).

I looked and the BBC page is still up
http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/classic/webcasts/realtime/
but it's ram files. Realplayer, yesno? Making the title a pun on the software?
Does it still work???
I'm not installing anything to find out, and this computer is just confused about what .ra might be.

There's lots and lots of pictures though

This one is a Cyberwoman, only with big shoulders instead of big Power Girl cleavage. Here too. There's the skin and the silver bits that look weirdly like stockings and suspenders. More here.

I can't decide if that makes the Cyberwoman in Torchwood weirder or less weird or anything. I mean, did they make it look the same on purpose? Did two designers independently think it was a good idea? Is it only me thinks the designs have much in common? *ponders* No, the whole silver on skin thing has considerable overlap.

geeky me now kind of likes there's a connection between Torchwood and a 6th Doctor webcast/audio adventure.

Speaking of Doctor Who on teh computer: There is Doctor Who on the computer. The Eleventh Doctor and Amy. In a game. For a computer.

You know what my computer can't run?

*pouts*

*sulks*

*glares*

Clearly I must buy a new computer.
