I was just thinking: The average spoiler-free kidlet who never watched Torchwood would have got *even more* cool out of Utopia than the Torchwood viewers, because that thing from Torchwood episode 1 that had us all OMGWOAHCOOL would be *new* for them.

And it was treated a bit different here, a bit more shiny - save the world with new-and-cool-power. Torchwood was kind of depressed about it all. Not so much here.
