Nov. 2nd, 2007 05:25 pmToday in class we played with scissors and glue :-)
And also, there was a picture of a baby going *facepalm*
basically it's like play school, except then you have to use words like interpellation about it.
So, that was fun.
But now I'm a teensy frustrated because if I'd known this lesson would be so eminently skipable I could have skipped it and gone to a convention. But I'd have had to know months ago, so that doesn't really work. And also I'm *exhausted*, blinky with tired, and mostly asleep. Like yesterday when I sleeped the whole time.
I always start the term thinking 'lalala, this is not as hard as I recall!'
and then...
So, anyway. I also have an essay to write. I seem to be doing great on the random flailing that might eventually turn into an essay plan part. Or at least I have a list of keywords, which I shall turn into sentences and pour into the essay. And I know lots of useful thoughts about classic Marxist theory and Althusser and Gramsci and Hebdige or however you spell that and really if I write a paragraph about each then I've got me an essay. I just keep on zooming off on tangents rather than, for instance, getting started.
I go sleep now.
Or possibly I go cook pasta and sauce.
We cut up a Dolmio advert for our textual transformation today, so I'm vaguely amused by my food.
