I woke up at, at the latest, 0400.
And in so doing I realised why I can't move to the flat that was in a nice area in Norwich.
It was on the ground floor. Mum said not to move to the ground floor because it's more dangerous and creepy. And my mum says things like that a lot, so I wasn't giving that data much priority.
But today I woke up and I'd been dreaming that klingons had broken into my house and were stealing stuff and raiding the kitchen. Which isn't likely. But the bit where there might be someone in my house was slightly more likely. And around then the line between sleep paralysis and just being too scared to move once again became blurry. Not like if there's actual people in my actual house then staying very still be very useful. Just that was how I got stuck, for entirely too long. How I got unstuck was remembering how much of a fort my house is. And if I moved to that nice flat? With the great big window? That opens all the way out? It would not be a fort at all.
Botheration.

So. I need a flat that is in a nice area, close to college, and feels safe as well as is safe.
This will take some looking.

I just looked through 59 pages of properties that are mostly the same property.
... the search function on houseexchange.org.uk needs work.
There's a way to search for a 3 way match, so somewhere that would swap with somewhere that would swap with you. The trouble is it shows every such match as a seperate match. It doesn't just show you the house you might move into with all the places that might complete the 3 way in a little list, it lists the house over, and over, and over, and over again.
And almost all the house descriptions are exactly the same.
And almost nobody puts a picture of their house on there.

I have found more properties in the area I thought was nice when I walked around. I have found more that look close to college. But everywhere is either on floor zero, made of floor zero like a bungalow, or a is a house. I don't see why I need a house. Even a 1 bedroom house. Also it has a garage, and I'll never need that. The only first floor place on my saved properties is the one that's a bus ride away from college. I decided in advance I wanted to move so I could walk, so, not so great.

So I'll either have to get over not liking floor zero or... go nowhere.

If everyone that wants to swap is on floor zero, does that mean everyone on floor zero wants to swap? ... not in logic, I think.

There's lots of places in King Street that want to swap. I didn't saved those. I don't really know why.

I still like the idea of moving. It's just a bit complicated.

I still really like that skull design.
The new CGI effects add a sense of scale. But they're a bit charmless.
Nyssa randomly running around with less clothes on doesn't last very long yet is somehow the most memorable bit. Read more... )

It is still easier to take characters seriously if they're not bird brains.

Ianto said, "To end the tour - where we'll all end. The Torchwood morgue."

Martha, naively, asked, "For aliens?"

"Agents. Deep frozen. Waiting. With uncertain hope of resurrection..." An almost reverent moment. Then he looks at her, quirks a grin. "You never know. Give it a thousand years..."

Just went looking for some Highlander fic. Some of mine. Found all my Highlander fic files are only in Works, won't open in Word. Found richfic seems to be all vanished, or possibly I'm misremembering the name in the first place, but there were links that didn't work either. Don't think what I'm looking for is one of the (not very good) stories on my website. Remembering that my website is going to cease to be in the near future along with geocities. And I can't remember my phrasing from that many years ago to search for it even if I have put it somewhere. It was something tiny short with Methos talking to Richie about grief and survival... or possibly it wasn't. Or possibly it wasn't even mine. That's how well I remember it. But... whatever it was? It's no longer possible to read it on this computer.

The longer I own computers, the more I learn to love print.

:-D
Happy now :-)

... it is my best most favourite story ever. This is because it is my first story ever. It is the first book I bought for my very own. On DVD it is even better. Read more... )

*loves this story and hugs it and wants to keeps it forever*
and I gets to! ... in more than one copy. ... they keep making more specialer editions.

There's parts of my brain that watch DW like it's an actual proper story for watching with your brain on.
And then there's the parts of me that are having much more fun.

Cybermen! Puking! And decapitated!
Dalek that blows itself up!
Immortality!

... Line up Mawdryn Undead, Enlightenment, and this one, and it isn't difficult to see where the Doctor gets his attitude about Jack. Fascinating.

Why do we keep telling stories about how living forever would secretly suck?
Stupid mortality.

Stories is forever. I keeps it and it stays.
