Snow

At some point early this morning I was briefly woken by a small child under my window going "There's Snow!!!!!"

And I was all "Yeah, yeah, the floor is white, get over it."

I woke up at a more civilised time... okay, I woke up at 1300... and I had emails from my employee about if we were going out today. I wrote back I'd just woke up but yes. She said to check out the window, and if I don't got rubber boots I might want to reconsider.

... there is Snow out there. The roofs are all lumpy with it. The bits of ground that weren't covered in cars have, like, inches of the stuff.

A lot of the ground has slushy mostly empty shiny in the sunlight mess instead, but I bet that'll be all frozen if you try walking on it.

So, yeah, I'm staying home and hibernating today.

I can order stuff online if I really feel the need.

I read something in the newspaper about how winter weather is a good thing because it makes us reconsider our journeys. Dear newspaper guy: some of us get one journey a week on a good week. Reconsidering that? Not actually a good thing. :-p

Winter. Meh.

There is snow outside. A car that wasn't there last time I looked has a couple inches on top. Our front steps have a covering. The ground isn't visible much any more. Snow falls from the skies.

I'm rather glad I didn't go out today.

I'm supposed to have a review meeting next week but they're forecasting blizzards. we have told them that blizzards beat review meetings. they also beat college. there isn't much that beats blizzards, really, and most of it involves ambulances.

I should have a very careful plan of what supplies I need and order in. Usually I get food on the way home from college and in theory on Sunday, but this week I'm thinking not so much.

weather is weird. if I lived on a space station I would only have to worry about... space weather, like meteorite showers and solar storms... that's probably not better really. And also if things go wrong you might run out of air. It takes much longer to starve or even freeze than to run out of air.

If I lived in the TARDIS I hear there's room where I'd still have to worry about weather.

Do you think the Doctor has a Snowmen room?
