Survived college again
Mar. 21st, 2011 12:34 pmI went to college, I survived, I took only one painkiller but managed to time it so I was half way through pill acquisition when the teacher asked me something so I could only wave a pill and gulp for an answer, I feel woogy and hotcold but the thermomenter says I'm 35.9, I caught the bus back and it smelled like car exhaust and that was no fun, I went through the shops for toilet roll but forgot it and got bread roll instead which in no way can serve the same purpose, now I am home.
Lessons would be immensely more helpful if people would do the bloody reading. Or at least bring their own notes! We're told at the end of one lesson what we'll do in the next, they were told at the end of the last lesson that they'd be telling the class about stuff this lesson, and yet mostly they no have their notes. They tell each other behind me, oops didn't bring notes. What is the point of turning up if you no can do? Well, points for turning up for girl with no voice today, no can do for fair reason. I mean is no good if no have even trying. I had done the assigned reading, no voice girl croaked a quote from the assigned reading, no other student had even done that reading that was supposed to be the topic of the class today. Except we were so slow we no get to it. Teach took two opportunities to point out we're supposed to do answering and not make her go around pulling the answers out of us. I wasn't much talky and the words were wwwwwwwobbling and I haven't had sleep but I think next time I'll try doing all the answers anyway. Then maybe we can go quick and start studying new things like on the schedule instead of spending yet a third week on the same assigned bit of whatsit.
We watched music videos and talked about how they're using Romeo and Juliet.
A neighbour teacher came in probably to check we were actually a lesson, and also ask us turn it down.
Rebels!
... we listened to Rick Astley in class, it kind of loses all our rebel points right there...
also to Madonna and Bon Jovi, and I do indeed remember all the words, *facepalm*
eh, at least there's some texts in this class I'm really thoroughly familiar with.
I don't think this teacher, more of a Shakespeare expert, is very much a music video expert, cause was being surprised about things I thought were standard techniques. Not that I watch many lately.
We watched a vid for Garbage #1 Crush. Teach was talking like it's an official vid, but Wiki says no such was made, and the comments on YouTube sound like it's a fan vid. this one - anyone know? I don't know, I might have misunderstood teacher.
(the vid really brings out the creepy disturbing in the R&J story.)
(as does the song, which was definitely officially associated with R+J.)
Also, today, I think she said 'fanflick' when talking about my interest in fanfic. Is a pretty good word for fan made films, but is not the word she's looking for.
... fanfic is a new idea to her apparently, despite having taught this Textual Transformations unit for some years now. Is why I wonder if songvid is a new concept too.
Now I has tired. In that brain stopping sitting here staring oops I should have gone asleep already way.
