Things I have learned from porn

Am reading. Am not writing. Will write. But I was thinking, the favourite things I have learned from reading about a lot of variously super powered characters having sex, are:

Normal is a very local phenomenon, subject to change without notice.
Normal is negotiated, and negotiations are ongoing
constantly
whether or not you are paying attention.
There is no box to think outside of, yet you are always building one.

Also, happy people don't have fewer needs, they just get their needs met.

We decide who we are going to be, minute to minute, and we make our own masks.
Which doesn't make them easier to take off or put on.

People is complicated.

... okay, I knew that one already. A lot. But the thought can also go,

People is complicated
:-)

because then there is learning.


I learned many these same things from reading about cultural studies and ideology.

I try not to cross the streams in class.
