Pictures

have been reorganising my pictures folder again
have seperate folders for clothes, uniforms military, uniforms band, uniforms prop and TV, psi emblems, armour, weapons, fans (the sort you flap with), tattoos, butterfly, plants, forget me not, People, Doctor Who and Torchwood, and Malcolm. ... Reed, from Enterprise. Quite a lot of that folder is from one episode. About one minute of one episode. *facepalm*

have also given up on categorising and added a folder for Shiny Things.
If I add another for Funny Pictures Of Animals then I should be all set.

There's whole sections of folder I can't touch until I write the story or character I was thinking on while collecting that sequence of pictures. I can reconstruct my thought process while they're all sitting next to each other, but if I move the funny looking perfume bottles away from the jeweled smallswords and the updo hair and the manolo blahnik shoes and the tarot card then I'll never remember.

I've been trying not to save random junk on this computer.

... a couple thousand pictures still accumulated.


On the plus side I've got a solid idea what the space navy uniforms look like and the spaceship and a bunch of other things.

... on the minus side I only just moved them into a folder that I backed up this morning, so they'll be rattling around being new. I need a better backup routine.

have also voted, mostly on the 'ooh, shiny!' principle. Like, if I recognise the name and think it was shiny, given the volume of media I consume, it was pretty shiny compared to background noise levels. was often tough to pick only 10 though. especially in the section starting 'star'. that really needed to be its own section that did.

It includes a bazillion things, not just books, tv, films, but also music, songvids, fanfic, lots of things.
There's some fanfic that I reckon stands up with the best science fiction, that takes canon that really only likes the FX potential of their SF elements and then does something really interesting with it.

ETA: Use as a recs list hits a snag. I was fine with not knowing what fandoms things were. I can always back button. But I just watched go.back.to.sleep - tikityler9 (fanvid) and I kind of really wish I hadn't. Like, REALLY. All the bits of Supernatural I'd usually cover my eyes for? MADE A VID. My eyes are OO
