I tried buying a couple of games from the supermarket. The 'Farm Frenzy' games want me to tell it my name and address and stuff before it will install. :-p to them. And the other one, Settlers 7, it says now I read it properly that it needs a permanent internet connection and your games are online. If I wanted to play online games I wouldn't have bought a disc. I have a stack of other games but they say they're for Vista at the most recent. So I don't know what happens if I install them in Windows 7.

I also started playing Doctor Who: The Gunpowder Plot. I'd never finished even the Dalek game before, but this one has a Rory. Well, it has a voice of Rory and a funny looking guy. The graphics are peculiar. And I liked it better when I could play the Doctor. And they still make me travel sick, and the most challenging thing about them is getting the sodding controls to do what I tell them to. ... not really a success, then. *sigh*

I have finished the Kingdom for the Princess games, and the Landgrabbers game though it has two harder settings to do, and the Farmscape game though you can make more farms. Games don't last very long.

My new tiny netbook has a thing where you buy Wildcoins and they let you play lots and lots of different games, you subscribe and it gives you games. But I don't know how long you get per coin, and it takes the money every month, and it seems like a bad plan, really. You can also just buy things, and I did that, for Fate, which is still the game I played longest, even though I got bored.

I don't want swish graphics and fighting, I want little clicky planning and timing and building things games. But they're being annoying instead of working.

My day has been productive too. I did laundry, filled the dishwasher, let the cleaner in and out, told the new cleaning instructions for the new microwave that for some reason says you should use washing up liquid to clean it, then after she left went and bought a number of things including washing up liquid. Pretty good for a day that started with a feeling of impending doom and conviction I've forgotten something.

I think I've not been doing enough work for college. This is partly because I'm very bored and partly because I forgot to get anything out of the library. I've done the assigned reading, just haven't been keeping up with the reading you need to do to get any good at it. On Wednesday I stay after lesson until the NSFG at the pub, so I'll do a lot of reading and grab some books then.

Two more years. One and a half, really, if I get stuck in. One and a half a term, now. I can totally keep going for that. And pass. Yes.
beccaelizabeth: Sarah Jane Smith (Sarah Jane)
I have been saving up the last of the Sarah Jane Adventures, because once I had seen it, that would be it, all done, forever. And I wasn't okay with that. Still aren't. But, there it is, done it now. It's Halloween and seemed a time for it.

So today I watched The Man Who Never Was. But first I watched K9 and Company.

... well it's Halloween-y, with the magic and all. Mostly though, I realised if I kept on not watching it, I would one day get around to watching, and that would be the last new thing I'd see with Sarah Jane Smith. Which didn't seem quite appropriate. So.
... she has a great outfit. Random cloaks for the win. And a long coat and trousers all matching it, and a white shirt with nice details. Lots of combinations to wear that in. And there were other sets of clothes too. Seemed like she had a new outfit every five minutes. Well the story covered several days, somehow, so they showed it.
... er, yes, that's the best thing I can think of to say about K9 and Company, I liked the cloak thing.
I shall keep it, for next time I worry about my script writing skills. They're still bad, but.

The Man Who Never Was was quite good. I like the stuff about Luke and Sky getting along. ... I'm less sold on the stuff about Clyde and Rani getting along because I'm waiting for him to ask Luke out. *facepalm* But they had a proper adventure. Read more... )

I liked the ending. I liked the clips, and the family, and that the story goes on forever.
That's how story works.
I like it better.
