I forgot to pack my lunch. Or my lunch drinks. Which is annoying.
College had vegetarian burgers, quorn ones again, so I did eat.

I been incredibly cranky all day.

unhelpful comparisons

I keep reading people complaining about racism/sexism/ablism/*ism in a form similar to 'if somebody said/did that about other*ism they'd never get away with it'
this is not helpful.
because the thing with discriminations, all those ugly *isms, the ones we need words for and that still exist in our society, is, they can and do get away with it. A lot. That's what makes it a shitty *ism and not ancient history.
Complaints in that form imply that everyone else's oppression is ancient history, and that by comparison it makes the remaining *ism a bazillion times worse.
But that don't work. Because they're not history. They're everywhere.
And one of the lies that gets sold is that it's better now, it's all better, progress progress progress, and then everything that looks like losing ground again is secretly progress in disguise.
Try and persuade all the battles are won so everyone can go be quiet now.
It's bollocks.
Arseholes are everywhere.

I'm not aiming this at any particular group, because I seen it said quite recently by people talking about ablism, racism, sexism, classism, all the ones I likely to read about.

And the form 'if they did that about them other people they'd never get away with it' pits all the groups against each other. It makes hierarchies of oppressions. It says which ones are secretly the actual bad ones.
Boo to that.
They all bad. We all get together and say so. Works more better.
