Things that are getting on my nerves

I know using detail from the comics turns a few hours of canon into a rich and full universe, but there's a point past which it's just not the same guys, and some comics people are either zooming right past it without noticing or deciding that movie people need to be educated in the One True Way.
Or possibly they're just picking the popular version for the hits. I don't know.
It's just winding me up.
Probably mostly because it's the safest thing to be getting wound up about right now, but, still.
(also? unannounced xovers are not clever. nor funny. nor interesting. they pretty much make it look like someone couldn't be bothered to think of things so they took them and didn't label them as someone elses. There's actually unflattering words for that.)
(and I say this despite the fact that I can't persuade my bunnies that Methos is not the guy in X2 under mind control. if I actually used the idea I'd put it in the appropriate tags. cameo xover? something.)
