Mostly achieved delivery and cleaner day

Yesterday evening my mum took the old chairs away and this morning at 0820 the new chairs arrived (for an 0900 delivery slot I thought, oh well).

New chairs are all round bigger than I'd thought because I have no sense of scale
but they're good quality chairs.

I did one load of laundry successfully (blankets) and another load... not successfully (sheets and towels, overloaded, now starting again with half the load wet in a basket).

Also it was Cleaner Day, and the cleaner was happy to do washing up of my new cutlery, so the new rainbows are all clean and good to use.

I feel like big ugh whenever I screw up the laundry, but it'll work eventually, and the other things were achieved, so it is only small ugh.

I have started watching Dark Matter season 3 so I'll go back to that.

I find I'm less invested in the story or characters than I am wondering at how you get that civilisation from those technologies.

Like, they use that Transfer Transit for so very little, and it doesn't make any sense. ( Read more... )

I just... their tech doesn't lead to their world and it's so frustrating.

I know it's how TV does SF, it's just action with some shiny bits, but... *throws hands up*

So many big ideas, so very little done with them.

It's not just that the future has oppressions that look just like the now, it's that they haven't made up any reason their sufficiently advanced technology can't do all the things. We can imagine it's money.

I'm just really unconvinced that an interstellar society would work anything like this, and yet it always does.

I would like to make my bed and go lie down in it
but the Laundry Error is still not resolved to the point of having the underneath sheet dry
which is puzzling, and annoying, and should be fixed soon if the buttons worked this time.

The laundry was so wet I had to deal with a basket of water after the laundry went in the machine for part 2. Lots of paper towel, much wiping. Possibly I could have figured a way to pour it out somewhere but probably I'd have just got wet carpet.

This is a boring set of problem to have.
Which is pretty okay.
