Quests into danger?

I had a thought after I sleeped tonight and I have started looking up my Quest destinations on the crime mapper. Most of them are in lower than average crime areas, and compare favourably to Norwich.
Then there's Milton Keynes.
Norwich city centre crime rate: 31.9, mostly anti-social behaviour
292 actual crimes
Milton Keynes centre crime rate: 237.7, mostly Violence with a large second place of anti-social behaviour
353.7 actual crimes
And while there's lots of different areas within both Norwich and Milton Keynes there's a lot more slices of Milton Keynes that turn orange and red for above average to high crime, especially when you look at Violence.
That seems like a bit of a difference, really.
The cathedral of trees is on one of the map's corners between a red and a yellow area, high and average.
High means 110 crimes in the Violence category in May, and Average being about 6 a month. Which is quite a lot of a difference, really.
It is not a difference that encourages me to go wandering among trees. No matter how they're set out.
Conclusion: The tree cathedral opposite the zoo in an area with a crime rate of 4.6 and a violent crime rate of 0.4, meaning 1 or last month 0 crimes a month, is more likely to provide a serene and tranquil experience.
Logical conclusion?
Do I worry too much?
I don't think I worry too much when the numbers are quite that different.
I know people worry too much about crime in general compared to actual statistics, but I've looked up the actual statistics this time.
So I may well skip Milton Keynes, for I have found what MK has, and it includes crime.

Date: 2010-06-25 03:13 am (UTC)I think I'll leave out Milton Keynes.
Of course I haven't checked out the London Eye. I suspect London is scary.
