Jul. 28th, 2023 06:44 amAnother day of mostly Wrath of the Righteous.
I succeeded at the Legend mythic quest and it resulted in *so much levelling up.* So so much. You lose the mythic stuff and get regular levels instead, but a lot of them. This I had not expected, so, I had no plan in mind when it started to level and hit 20 on the rogue that I chose for Ianto. I dont actually think he'd be as stabby as Pathfinder Ianto but the computer wont let me give him a gun so stabbing happened. He'd love electical weapons so he has an electric shortsword and bracers that throw lightning. But only when worn by a spontaneous caster. Which is a problem when I have decided he just kind of resents magic and refuses to engage with it. So my stupendous amounts of levels have not one rank in Knowledge Arcana or Use Magic Device by the time he gets Rogue 20, and quite a while beyond. But I made him a Bard. And unlike my usual problems with the ethics of mind controlling magics, I decided he just fully refuses to believe it isn't just him being particularly persuasive, so he's picked all the enchantments that he can tell himself are just words.
Also dispel magic in both lesser and greater forms. Because he is grumpy about magic.
And to be fair, he also has the Persuasion score of the gods, it's ridiculous, and stats that hit 30 in more than one place, and he's still got more levels to go. Since he is probably the most persuasive a human being has ever been, the difference between that and magic seems hand waveable.
... actually the whole point of Legend is he has the scores of a mortal, just, like, the best who ever lived. I like it. But it's a lot of steps away from where he started.
Also a bit happened on the myth path so far: (spoiler) ( Read more... )
Also today I did Ember and Ulbrig's quests. Very cool both of them.
Ulbrig's one ends with a very difficult decision and I'm not sure how consistent the choice I went with was. But I decided the whole free will and consent priority pointed to one option, so picked that. Tricky one though.
Especially since ( Read more... ) that's not an easy choice, and it's going to be nightmare time for Ianto, wondering if it was the right thing.
I like these interactive stories but it do complicate the possibility of fandom.
Nobody else saw the same story, if you include all the character reasons in my head.
Still, fun the play.
