So that worked
Jul. 14th, 2010 11:57 pmMy day had stuff happen in it.
I got my computer back. I haven't had time to plug it in yet. He's backed up all my everything into one desktop folder called backup. That's... going to take some unfolding. And reinstalling stuff. But most of it really really needed reinstalling, or possibly exorcism.
I bought a HAT! It is a new hat. It fits. It also looks exactly like the one my employee bought herself only a lighter blue, because she bought one and then thought hmm, BE was looking for a hat. So I must difference my hat. I have rainbow bootlaces chosen for this purpose already. But it's a pretty good hat so far. It goes on my head and stays and doesn't give me lines. It is blue like most of my daylight clothes. It should be cooler than my other hats. Er, purely in temperature terms, fashion hat coolness is a no.
We went to Sainsbury's and I got a refund on the trousers my mum and aunt said would be perfectly perfect for me. It is hard not to buy things when your family are saying 'buy! buy! buy!' like cheepy birds. But they don't fit and I don't like the fabric. I did like the shirt we got though. They have more good shirts, lots of soft shirts. Not in my size today or I would have bought more.
Then we went and watched Shrek in 3D. I need to leave more time for standing in lines. And more budget for 3D glasses, cause they've started charging for them seperately.
Shrek was fun. I liked.
3D... I think I'm over. *shrugs*
After that was NSFG. The topic was Young Adult Books, because I said I wanted to talk about what I'd been reading lately on topics day so they wrote it down like that. Today mostly got hung up on defining YAs and then the loud one going on about why would you dumb down your book and young people should just read adult books. Like he did. Oh, also a detour through why Terry Brooks is a hack, based on how he read Sword of Shannara that one time and it was exactly like Lord of the Rings only worse. No reading any other books by him. Oh, and also also saying Terry Pratchett just exists to take the piss out of every other story and never actually makes anything up. Which was not about YAs. But he hadn't read any, and nobody had heard of my authors, and the quiet one had read many Doctor Who books same like me but had more criticising of them going on.
I wish to find fans who squee. Who actually like things. Any things that we have a little bit of overlaping interest in.
Crit is all very well, but if there's no squee, why are they even *here*?
So then the evening ended early.
Then I went to Tesco on the way home but was so tired I can't remember why I needed to do that. I got about a meal's worth of stuff and decided to Morrisons shop tomorrow with the trundle thingy.
That was quite a long day.
Shrek was quite funny quite often. Also I like it when people rescue themselves and do things because they're the right thing to do so I liked this one plenty.
