I thought this episode has little to no rewatch value because once you know what is going on it all gets a bit boring. But then I found some useful and interesting in the character stuff. Once you know it's Dr Crusher who got trapped in a warp bubble then the whole first half is waiting for her to catch up and the whole second half is, well, waiting for her to catch up some more and then jump. Tiny bit boring there.

But I liked some of the stuff about how the rest of the crew treated her when they weren't sure she was sane. They were willing to do all the scans and checks necessary to check out her claims. And Deanna had that good little conversation in the corridor where Beverly wonders if she's crazy and Deanna's like so what if you are? You're acting in the best interests of the ship, and maybe we'll be a bit late getting to the next bit. *big shrug* It prioritises safety above being perceived neurotypical, never dismisses her concerns despite them being really hugely weird, and never stigmatises her, never gives her a label and writes her off. I like it. Granted they're all figments of her imagination, but they're cool and logical figments. If someone smells smoke, check for fire. And as Deanna says, they'll get her treatment at the next opportunity. Deal with all the possible sorts of problem, without being a jerk to anyone.

Wesley is in the uncute phase of teenager. I'm not saying that to be rude to him, I'm saying he's not getting the gosh wow parts any more, he's getting the sulky getting into trouble parts. Wesley accidentally wrecking the ship could be interesting if character stuff happens because of it. I'm not quite convinced this one counts. But it was basically Beverley's story, so Wes was just the Big Oops that kicked it off.

However I discover I have very weird definitions of hot: I thought it was hot when Wes started phasing in and out of current reality. Because it demonstrated a mastery of physics such as mere mortals don't generally achieve. It's kind of like the sequences in Iron Man where he beats up metal and invents things, only without the obvious muscle appeal. I like it when people demonstrate mastery over the shifting environment.

... teenagers though? Not hot.
I'm kind of glad my younger self's opinions on that one are fuzzy memory rather than current ambush. That would be awkward.
