I started watching a ballet version of Romeo and Juliet. Some famous ballet dudes are in it, I forget, I wrote it down somewhere. So far what I am learning is: I do not speak ballet. Or read it. Or know what is going on when ballet happens. So far the story is 'some people is dancing, some people is dancing, some people is dancing, some people is dancing with swords'. Ballet sword fights are hilarious. They keep making these poses that are almost but not quite fencing, the pretty version, all stretch and poise, and their swords keep clacking together like metronomes. There's absolutely no indication they're trying to actually hit each other, just this clack clack in mid air up above their heads. And then they do twists and leaps while the person they're fighting backs off to give them space. It's all very pretty and not fighty.

Ballet dancers legs: wow.
Everyone's in tights and I now realise that with actors that's sort of a mixed luck thing but with dancers, legs everywhere, yowza.

Also funny, in the opening titles was John Hart. Who was a ballet master and assistant director of the Royal Ballet.
So I think Torchwood.
... in tights...

The thing is I know lots of interesting complicated things are happening. I'm sure I'd be impressed by the technical expertise of the not-a-fight if I knew how tricky the ballet part is, same like I'm impressed with good martial arts. But I'm not sure I'm going to learn enough about ballet by watching this version to figure out what they did to Romeo and Juliet beyond making it dance.

Shall try again later.

At least in "Torchwood in Tights" we would be guaranteed that at least someone would look good in tights.

Can't help you with the ballet though. The only dance I ever liked and understood was based on WWI, and ended with one of the dancers hanging themselves.
