Happy! Happy happy happy.
I liked that one.
... also there was a bit in the middle I'm going to have to watch again because I was LOL so much I missed it.
There were scary bits and Amy and Rory running around a lot but really this was the Doctor and the TARDIS having banter, and it was awesome. And we learn the TARDIS' name! "700 years and finally you ask" And what is it he calls her? "Only when we're alone" And she stole him :-D :-D :-D Because she wanted a Time Lord and he's the only one mad enough :-) And they make me happy happy happy.
And Amy and Rory get a new room and bunk beds and Rory is a nurse a lot better than last week, but someone must have made a note, 'Rory is a nurse, say it every week'. And Rory is the pretty one! I wonder what counts as pretty to an 11 dimensional being. Two thousand years that may or may not exist? I wonder if he's like christmas lights. Like his Roman self is on BLINK tags.
I like that the Doctor is a bit callous and the TARDIS feels for her dead sisters and I like her looking for the word ALIVE. ... it's a Neil Gaiman script there, all the playing with language, Del fingerprints.
I love them building a new TARDIS console out of all the scraps and he doesn't care that it's impossible. Impossible is a silly word. And he can't make it work without Her. :-)
I love that the TARDIS is consistently gendered actually, as she genders her sisters, because then there's been one extra lady around the whole time. And she doesn't go where he wants to go, just where he needs to. And he knows :-)
ETA: I forgot til someone else mentioned, 'The Corsair' and 'himself or herself' - I'd forgot that wasn't strict canon, but now it is, Time Lords can be Time Ladies when they regenerate. Add this to Clyde asking if the Doctor can be black and canon confirmation he can be anything and we can has all anyone as next Doctor. :-D /ETA
I have the happy bounce. Yes :-)
... you know what, that's about all I've got to say about this one. Happy! I have a big grin! :-D and LOLs
There will be fun bits to rewatch and I'm sure the message will matter later.
... I only just remembered the sad bit where the Doctor thought there were more Time Lords but it was just their panic memories trapped in little boxes. :-( That was not happy making.
I'm sort of glad he noticed 'one more Ood I didn't save'.
But! It establishes the principle there are no more Time Lords in the universe and there can be Time Lords outside the universe like Romana.
... also it makes up new Time Lords, and they're called The. The nice ones start with The. The ones that left home.
I want to watch again for the Doctor/TARDIS bits. Cause the title is so right.
And he was sad, but then he is still with her, so that is happy.
... I really do like that he kept introducing her, 'The TARDIS, and a woman!' and Amy was all 'Did you wish really really hard?' because yes if you know him you know.
When did the Doctor tell Amy all the true things? The whole true things. What precisely did he say?
Episode made of good stuff! Having happy, and having thoughts! :-D
Also, has anyone been reading the The Fourth Dimension section on the web page? With all the secret messages? Is interesting this week.
I haven't been keeping them and now think I probably should. Wonder if they're still there. Yep...
PS: You know LJ's current banner? With the hands and the gold glowy?
... ;-)

Date: 2011-05-15 04:42 am (UTC)I loved that Rory got to shine in this episode; on some level, he's the anchor, the only sane and practical person in the group. And it's good that he gets to use his training, as it's part of who he is.
Too bad Amy needs to be reminded of how much she loves Rory (he's died more times than Buffy), but good that she does remember.
